We are not a solo unit, yes, we are born alone and die alone, the life experience is a solo journey. You can probably hear the but coming, well here it is. We are social creatures, meant to share experiences together. Involvement in the community around us can have a positive impact on our mental and physical wellbeing. We seek understanding, support, comfort and even validation from the external world around us.
From personal experience, which I’m sure we can all relate. There comes a time in life where things are flowing smoothly, we are seeing progress in our efforts and achieving goals. Feeling on top of the world, we forget how fragile it all is. Theres a saying, ‘this too shall pass’. Generally, we say that when times are tough and we feel like we’re drowning in all the things we think we can’t handle, promising that good times are just around the corner. But life isn’t always a happy merry go round, it keeps throwing those balls at us, as the kids say ‘ready or not here I come!’ then the game begins.
One of the worst experiences I’ve had is isolating in my depression, the worst feelings I couldn’t even put into words. How does one ask for help when I can’t even articulate what is hurting inside me.
